The azaleas and dogwoods are in full bloom in Alabama.
I gathered up some of my green items and some
blooms (some real, some not so much) to transistion
from what little Winter we had to Spring on the mantle.
"Spring prepares her green traffic light and
the world thinks 'Go!'
a parapharased quote by Christopher Morley
Sometimes folks ask what the finish on my fireplace is. It is an
easy process called "mortar washing". You bascially paint your
bricks with colored, thinned down brick mortar.
It looks beautiful. I love green and white- it is so serene and sweet looking- Nice job! xo Diana

ReplyDeleteThanks for posting over at my fireplace show and tell party! That is lovely. I have been thinking brick since stone seems too obvious for our place and I grew up in a house with a brick fireplace so memories count too!

Your fireplace is really pretty and your blossoms are completely enviable! We are WAY behind Alabama where I live in Canada.

I realize this is 100 years old...but the wall over your mantle...that's realy brick with mortar washing? It looks like a faux brick paint job and I want to do that so badly over my fireplace mantle. The same beautiful color too! Any tutorials?
