This was one of my favorite sayings of
Gomer Pyle on "Andy of Mayberry".
When Gomer said, "Surprise! Surprise! Surprise!", the person he was speaking to was not always pleasantly surprised.
I recently ordered a "surprise box" from a sponsor on a blog I follow.
This is what came:
It has a nice finish but I don't know what it is.
Do you?
Cute curly-Q legs
Perfect spirals
Thin on top
At first I thought it might be something to hold pictures or postcards or reminders. But the wire is non-bendable and
cards or pictures don't fit.
I wondered if a mirror could be glued on to the back. But I'm at the age that I really don't want to see myself that close up.
I'm not a send-it-back-type person. I'm tripped up on what it is and
need to know how to use it. Any ideas?
I think it might be a standing wreath frame? I have a wreath frame that is in that shape of loops instead of the typical rings...that's my best guess!! I like it no matter what it is!! :)
ReplyDeleteNot sure what it really is but I do like it a lot! My brain is spinning with things you could do with it. :)
ReplyDeleteYes, it looks like a standing wreath frame. I like your ideas of what you will do with it. Can't wait to see it! Luv
ReplyDeleteWEll, I had no idea what it was/is...but it is really kind of neat! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteIt pretty interesting looking, no clue what it is. I am sure you will find something fabulous to do with it or use for. Great conversation piece!
ReplyDeleteNo clue as to what your surprise item is. Kinda neat though!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my bottle post. I do love old bottles.
Have a great holiday weekend.

Wreath hanger sounds good to me. Or you could string a couple pieces of twine from side to side and use small clothes pins to hold photos. Looking forward to see what you come up with!
ReplyDeleteDebbie
I like the wreath hanger idea. Wouldn't it be cool to weave some ribbon thru it and pin some trinkets to the ribbon? A pretty orange ribbon with fall leaves pinned to it, a black velvet ribbon with tiny witch hats... Remember those plastic hoops they used to sell that you pulled and puckered fabric thru to make puffy window coverings? You could try something like that--pulling fabric thru the wire loops. I'm sure you'll come up with something great. I hope you'll blog about it!
ReplyDeleteMiss Kopy Kat,
ReplyDeleteI have two guesses what your mystery item might be:
1) a topiary form for the garden?
2) a living wreath form where you insert flower stems in the "ringlets" around the circle ... sort of a combo wreath + topiary. I've seen this concept at receptions.
I love how you embrace fun ... ordering a mystery item?!?! I'm so particular about the minute differences between version A and version B of two basically identical items, I'm not sure I could be bold like you. Good for you, I've got to try that!

You could use springy clothespins covered in silver glitter to hold photos or cards or ephemera!
ReplyDeleteI have NO idea, whatsoever. It is very pretty...and I know you will come up with something wonderful.
ReplyDeleteI laughed so hard when you mentioned JAWS. Would you believe, we live in West Texas, millions of miles from beach and ocean...the week after we saw Jaws, we went to visit family ON THE COAST. We were all scared silly to go in the water. My son was about 12 at the time...he got in the water...the rest of us were lying on the beach and I looked up and saw him
reach down, grab something and slung it into the next county. Sea weed had wrapped around his ankle and, I'm tellin' ya, if it HAD been a shark, it would have had to sprout wings 'cause it would have been flying. hahhaaa...such fun memories. :))
I got the same "surprise". I also got an email saying that it's a photo holder and they showed the photos clipped on with clothespins. BUT...I like it as a jewelry holder! it's perfect for earrings and you can hang necklaces on top :)
ReplyDeleteHmm.. perhaps you could hang earrings on it! ha :)
ReplyDeletei got one as well - not sure wht i will do with it... still sitting in the box.
ReplyDeleteWell whatever it is it's pretty darn cool! I would use it as a frame and just hang the picture or object of my affection in the center...I hope you'll share what you choose to do with it. *winks* Vanna
ReplyDeleteYou could add an image and use it as a frame. Just add heavy cardboard to the back to hold the picture in.
ReplyDeleteYes, It was an 11 night cruise from Venice to Athens and the Greek Islands. Thanks for visiting. I would highly recommend this trip.
Hugs,
Sherry
