I had never even been interested in terrariums until
I tried to copy a picture in a Better Homes and Gardens'
article for Debbie Doos Magazine Copy Cat Challenge .
I learned so much from the expert on terrariums who was
interviewed for the magazine's article. Her name is
Tovah Martin and she has written a very informative
book on the subject of terrariums (and all their many forms)
called "The New Terrarium". The photography in the book,
by Kindra Clineff, is beautiful.
If you would like to see a peak of the book,
Grab the blue button on the right side of the Amazon page to scroll down to see quite a few pages.
I have gotten a copy of the book so that I can share it
with one of you if you are interested in how to
make terrariums too. If you would like to enter to win
this copy of "The New Terrarium" just leave me a
comment below. I will use the random number generator
on Friday, February 10, 2012 at noon CST to pick a winner.
UPDATE: 21 folks entered the giveaway and the
random generator picked #8 which is Nana Diana.

I made several more terrariums
after the ones I made for the copy cat challenge.
Terrariums are a great way to bring gardening indoors
during the colder winter months.

ReplyDeleteI had terrariums years ago and just planted a new one this year. I found some glass snails who reside there and don't mold.
ReplyDeleteI would love a chance to win the book.

ReplyDeleteI'd love to have a go at winning the terrarium book. The one you made for the challenge was fabulous and I'll be looking forward to your tips.
ReplyDeleteHello Kitty, A terrarium would be a way I could have a life green plant in my house. I have a cat, and I am so afraid she might eat on a plant when I would be gone. So I only have fake plants. Smiles to you,Susie(She Junks)
ReplyDeleteI would love to win the Terrarium Book. I have lots of indoor plants but no terrariums. Your Copy Cat ones were beautiful.

I love terrariums!! I remember learning about them in 6th grade :)
ReplyDeleteLowes Creative Ideas had an article about them too!
I haven't seen people doing them in years until lately. Years ago they brought water in those big glass jugs that fit into water coolers...and then I had one (as did hundreds of other people) that I turned sideways and created a whole miniature garden in it. I had it for several years. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYour post reminded me that I was planning on digging up some moss and bringing it indoors. I ran right out and got some. Now I have to wait for you to tell us how to keep it alive under the dome! If I had the book, I could just read it. lol ~ Maureen
